A small selection of flowers wild and cultivated
There is not a lot of external evidence for what has been a very busy month one way and another, but I know.
The server business was very taxing and I had to make several restarts. My notes are patchy, and there was plenty to note, so I hope to extract what I can from them in due course. I begin to question the wisdom of my even starting this idiocy.
Previous years are still on an archive page.
Four posts, all of them probably far too geeky, but the strange thing is that one analytics site consistently ranks those how-tos, which I write mostly as notes to myself, as among the most visited pages. And speaking of analytics, although I say I don’t care that much about visitor numbers, I do, especially for the podcast. And those numbers seem to be all over the place. Last week saw a phenomal jump, around 7-fold for both unique visitors and regulars, which is crazy, unfathomable and hard to act on when so many visitors lie about their intent.
There has been a post in draft for most of this month, about the difficulties of developing software as a rank amateur. The trouble is that the things I want to do for “fun” some people study and are paid to do, and that makes online resources for those of us who don’t have the necessary background learning not very helpful.
No complaints, really. Just moans, niggles and whinges, because who wants to be smothered by good news?
