If I were in the least bit insecure about this blog, I would welcome comments like this one:
First of all thank you for a such wonderfull topic, well i have to say it is difficult for me to say if i agree with you or not. I will read it for a second time and let you know what i think
Sure, it’s content free. But hey! Somebody cares! Except, of course, that they don’t. Pure spam bollox. Best of all, it was a comment to a post that wasn’t a topic at all, it was just a list of links. So the good news is that if the spammers are paying real people to post real comments, they’re getting ripped off too.

I had another, non-fruit, blog once (it’s probably still out there somewhere, but I forget where) that only ever had one post, which essentially said “here’s my new blog, I just made it to see how it works, I’ll probably never post anything here.”
When I last checked on it a year ago, it had two comments both of which were spam. I particularly liked the one that said: “I’ve been reading your site for a long time now, and I like the inquisitive way you think. I have a site on a similar topic you might be interested in: (link to site)”. I wonder how long he had been reading that one, uninformative post?

What I want to know is, who is taken in by that stuff? A close cousin to Who really believes that someone I don’t know wants to pay me millions of dollars just to use my bank account?
I’ve gotten about four or five copies of the same message saying that Luciano Pavarotti had left me his entire estate in his will. I was tempted to write back to one of the other messages offering me millions of dollars and explain that I have just inherited the Pavarotti estate, so perhaps they ought to find some one else to give it to.

What an excellent idea. Do it, I say, but use an anonymous remailer to send your reply.
