Know just how you feel, though, about having the splint removed. What a relief, and finally back to typing full speed ahead! I had a rheumatoid pannus removed a year ago April 1 and spent a month in the splint. Now I sport a lovely, three-and-a-half-inch, zig-zag scar along the side of my wrist. Looks like an M. Or a W. I prefer thinking of it as a lightning bolt carved by a child. Be kind to yourself and believe: It will look mostly normal again, someday. I guess saying “I bet that hurt” is an understatement.
